I am not a lawyer and what I suggest is merely my opinion. You must respond the the interrogatories within 30 days. In your response, I suggest you deny their request for information as being unduly burdensome, overbroad, and/or vague. It may also be proprietary, or without scope, or foundation. Answer what you can without giving anything away, like your employers address, income, etc. Their next move may be to file a motion to compel. Or, they may just get too busy and forget about you. I would fart around and try and push this past the discovery deadline. What kind of debt was it? Was it a student loan? Make sure you get a validation of the debt from them including collection fees, legal fees, etc. If your really owe the money, I would do whatever it takes to reaffirm the debt and avoid getting hit with a judgement. This I can tell you though. Expect the other side to lie to you and the Court about everything. Don't trust anybody including me.
