Where I live, you get a court date where you can show up if you think the ticket is unfair. If you just ignore it and don't go to court or pay it, they issue a warrant, and a detective calls you up and tells you to come turn yourself in. If you don't go, they bring the wagon and pick you up. You pay it or go to jail, LOL.

Needless to say, I don't have any unpaid parking tickets. They're not much of a problem here either.
