Leased Vehicle

2 1/2 years ago I leased a vehicle for a friend who was to put it in his mom's name after 30 days. After the deal was done, his mom refused. I returned the leased vehicle after 3 weeks and explained the situation. I told them that I would pay for the prorated amount of 3 weeks but that was the most I was financially able to do. They have turned it now over to a collection agency and will be filing suit within the next 30 days. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
