Hello everyone,

First of all, it's great to have a thread online discussing issues that effect so much of Americans now days. I was in a very difficult financial situation 10 years ago, and luckly came out ok. But if I knew half the information that is dissemenated on this board, I would have been well informed and probably more prepared than I was back then. Since then, I took a job as a collection agenct to find out just how collection methods are instilled on clients like us. I learned plenty of tricks, but most of those tricks are beginning to become more evident to consumers by the internet. I also worked with collection attorneys, asset protection attorneys and mortgage attorneys that furthered my education and knowledge in these areas of law. I also briefly worked as a Life/Annuity Insurance agent, and worked with their legal department.

Because many of the questions posted on here, require legal advice, I thought that some of our members here would like to or at least look at some websites that offer pre-paid legal services. Now, I am not talking about the multi-level pre-paid legal services, but legitimate companies who offer them. I am a member of www.legalwise.com, but their are many others. www.legalopinions.com, www.webattys.com, www.wildonion.com and www.caldwell-legal.com. All have an assortment of legal services that they provide for a very reasonable cost. I encourage all those interested to look up these websites, and even subscribe to one of them. One thing I learned when perfoming collections for an Asset Protection attorney, was that, most or all of our assets can be protected, IF IT IS DONE WELL BEFORE LITIGATION STARTS. I am not advocating any one particular services, I am just here to say that we all at sometime will need some legal advice, but may not be able to afford 150-300 dollars an hour. If you can't, then check these sites out, save, learn and be informed of the law and our rights as consumers, so that no one can abuse them.

Good Luck to everyone,

BJ
