Several lawyers have told me if someone comes to them while they are still current but starting to slide, they can arrange their afffairs to keep everything. They say the options are more limited when someone comes in with a summons in one hand and a shoebox full of defaulted visa/mc bills in the other.
Look at people like Jon Connally, Bowie Kuhn, Burt reynold, and Kim Bassinger. There first stop wasn't CCCS or any of that nonsense. The first thingthey did was see a lawyer and they {or their estates} are still millionaires. Gotta be a lesson there for everyone else.
