: : Hi
: : I'm sorry that u and I have had similiar problems with Gulf.. there number is 800-514-9754. You should know that they are bastards...true and true... Please be careful. They bought a old debt from my credit card company and we did settle... but after I paid 60 cents on the dollar they said my account didn't exist... and hungup on me 5 times... The head guy there is Mr. Jacobs...very rude. I am in the process of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.... Please be careful... they are legit.. but are real Slim Balls to deals with. Have now accused me of having another bad debt... becareful what u send them.. or tell them. I would call the Better Business Bureau and talk to them about them before calling them... there are alot of complaints...

: : Mike Perry
: : Anchorage Alaska

: Local number here in atlanta for this company is: 770-451-4862
: It may be easier to get through to a direct line...
: Good luck.

They might be a real company, but they have broken several laws! First, it is illegal for them to call anyone at work. Second, a payment cannot be refused unless it is a large number of coins. Third, they are required by the federal credit lending act of 1979 that they disclose all information to the owner of the bill. Further required by law, is the removal of bad credit after 7 years. It is also illegal for them to contact by phone before 8 am and after 6 pm. So, contact the BBB, Federal Trade Commission, Federal Comminucation Commission, and your state attorney general. Suggest that he contact other states such as Missouri, California, Virginia's attorney general as I have heard that the attorney general's of these states have been contacted about Gulf State Credit.
