Judgement from approx. 10 yrs ago

My husband had a judgement from about 10yrs ago. He co-signed for an employee of his so that the employee could rent an apartment. The employee did not pay and we got stuck with the rent due. Approx. 10 yrs has past and all of a sudden we got a call from a collection agency requesting the money. He said that they can put a lien of your home or Garnish my husband's wages. Is there a statue of limitations after the judgement is issued? The judgement is now for the amount of $3300.00. They added on interest. We live in California. What should we do?
