I was just browsing thru creditnet.com and came across the whole deal about TU watching that board. I stumbled upon someone (I believe it was Linda) who said they had the same account (bought by different companies) on their TU report. My hubby has the same problem that he's been fighting for 3 years. Equifax and Experian have removed the 3 accts. (none of them should be on there to begin with, he bought a 'lemon' of a car, returned it, the State of NH sued the dealer for not being licensed and made the dealer pay back ALL loans for every sale he made, or something like that). Anywho, TU will not remove ANY of them, so it looks like he owes $27,000 in car payments, and it doesnt say reposseion on his TU report, it says charge off. The last time he fought it (July 2001) they sent him aletter saying they won't investigate it cause the address he provided is not the one they have on file. He has lived at this address for 4 years. Heres my favorite part, he got a copy of his report that he BOUGHT 2 years ago at this address and he hasn't applied for any credit since 98. So my question is can he sue TU? They won't investigatee it (one of the companies that bought the bogus debt is Gulf State), they won't accept our bank statement as proof of his address cause only my name is at the top but his name is on the side. UGH MAN I HATE TU!
