I've had the same problem with Gulf State. My Citibank Visa went delinquent in 1994. Gulf State has reported it as 1998, I guess that's when they took it over. It's over 7 years and both Citibank Visa and Gulf State are still damaging my credit. I disputed with all three credit bureaus, return receipt, everything right. But they say the items have been verified as correct. Anyone have any suggestions? The FTC doesn't help individual consumers (I've complained). My next step is to file a lawsuit.
