Lance, There are some lawyers who argue that if you acknowledge the debt you restart the clock. If you write a letter saying yeah I owe it but the SOL has run, you may be in trouble. Just write a letter referencing the account number and say never bother me with this again. If you get sued just go to court and tell the judge the SOL has run. A lot of times, the less you say the less you have to explain later.
