You should research very carefully before you contract with a debt management company. Some of them do not do a good job. Check with the bEtter Business Bureau. They have a website where you can check. Also the FTC has information about how to research, what to look for. The credit card companies can still sue you. They probably won't, but they could. You will still have to work on your credit report. It will not automatically be good after you finish with credit counseling. You will still have problems. Linda
