Is your attorney trying to get the marks removed for a settlement? the reason I am asking is that I have contacted an attorney-Law firm-that deals with debt settlement, but I don not believe they try to get the mark removed. It just shows up as "settled-Paid" which, if I understand is not a lot better than not paid. I am in the same boat as you, I do not need credit myself, but I do not want it to impact my girlfriend if/when we get married.
