Now long does a charge off stay on credit report??

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long
a charge off stays on your report paid or not?? If the charge off gets sold over and over again does
that restart the clock ie they can report it everytime
its been bought and sold from different collection
agencies.. If you start paying on it does that restart the clock??on your credit report?? Does it stay on your report 7 years from the date of
deliquency or from the last activity?? After the SOL has expired and its dropped off your
report can a collection agency put it back on your
report if it hasn't been paid even though it is a chargeoff that is over 7 years old?? any help would be appreciated..
