In Texas, I know they cannot take your personal property or garnish your pay. As far as 401K, IRA etc, generally the rule is, if you can't get it, they can't get it. They may be able to seize bank accounts - I am not sure about that. They can put a lien against your real estate so that if you ever do sell it, they get their money.

If you are in trouble this deep, and you are unable to pay, it is in your best interests to see a good attorney who helps people in your situation - a bankruptcy attorney - see if you qualify.
