If your post on September 30 was made at night, especially shortly after midnight Eastern time, it may possibly have disappeared because of the September BBS being archived right at the same time that you posted. There is about a 15-minute period where this is a risk.

I understand what you are saying about threads getting cut off due to the end-of-month change-over. Unfortunately, the BBS software doesn't provide a convenient way to respond to older posts. And without the monthly archiving process, the main BBS page would become so large that it would slow down and possibly crash people's browsers.

My only suggestion at this point is to just start a new thread on the new BBS main page, with the same title as the old one (starting with "Re:"), and respond that way. Perhaps cut-and-paste a short quote from the original post. (Yes, I realize that is kind of clunky.)

Having a system with a smoother back-and-forth to old posts, while still keeping the screens reasonable-sized, would probably require switching to a new kind of BBS software.

I'll keep this issue in mind, and look into it more when I have time.
