On my credit report, under negative credit items. A dept store had a negative item with:
Status: Account charged off/ past due 180 days. $x,xxx written off. $x,xxx past due.
Type: revolving
Responsibility: Authorized user
Recent balance: $x,xxx
Recent payment: $0 Monthly Payment: $0
Account History: ...Charge off. ..pastdue..

I disputed this with the credit bureau as: Not my account and I do not owe this. They then said "verified and remain unchanged" and changed it to:
status: claim filled with government. $x,xxx past due as of 10-2001
Account history: claim filled with government as of 10-2001

My credit bureau credit score then went way down.
I was trying to find employment, this is will prevent me from getting a job.
