state of jurisdiction & 12 year old visa debt?

I was recently contacted by a collection lawer in GA where I have lived in for the last 3 years. It was to collect a 12 year old credit card debt from Ohio. I have no recollection of this visa account but to continue, I lived in Ohio then, and GA now.

Ohio's statue of limitations is 15 years and GA I think is like 2-3.

I had a GA lawyer write the visa card issuer asking for proof of the debt(receipts and contract opening copy etc)2 months ago & telling them that since I lived in GA I had to be sued in GA and the statue of limitations here in GA would not hold up for the collection effort in court.
My lawyer never heard anything again so I stopped using him and we thought that was the end of it. The point being in case anyone has an issue giving me advice I do NOT have legal counsel at this point, esp since I am not sure what state to even re-hire one in.

Now, an Ohio lawyer has contacted me just like the
GA law firm did. Is this just some game they are playing? I don't live in Ohio, for a few years now, own a house and pay taxes here. Is there some way they can sue me there(back in Ohio)? The letter says its a personal visa card or personal debt.

thanks in advance for any advice, mark
