You do not need to punish yourself this way. If you must make amends, give the money to charity. The system does not give you the option of doing the right thing at this point. The debts have been charged off, quit worrying about them. Incidentally, your guilty feelings are the sign of a healthy conscience. It's a shame the system operates the way it does. But, instead of rewarding your integrity, it will punish you more severely than a person who simply bankrupts their debts. If no one is after you, keep you head down, and don't apply for any credit. Don't check your own credit reports - do absolutely nothing that involves credit, until the statute of limitations is up. What state are you in and what state were you in when you got the cards? When did these accounts first become continuously delinquent? If you have statements and records of all this, keep them forever. You may need them later. Linda
