All of this depends on the state where you live. You need to know how your state will treat that payment you made in 1995. Perhaps if you post that info here another friendly lawyer will tell you, LOL. Otherwise, call some lawyers and ask them. Somebody will tell you. If you don't want to do that, then wait, and like I said, keep a low profile until you are sure the SOL is up. Then you can go to work on the credit bureaus. Keep all your documentation and all your credit reports so far, if you have them. They will prove your dates for you when you take on the credit bureaus and collection agencies. They will try to keep this on your report by re-aging. If they are reaging now, ignore it. You can deal with it once they can't do anything to you - and it will be easy. Not only that, if they give you a hard time, you can sue them for each and every violation. :)

Study it all now, and you'll be ready when the time is right. And if you wait, stop checking your reports!!! That gets you antoher collection agency to deal with. LOL. They know you care!!! Be a "good deadbeat" - stop caring for a while. Convince them there is no point in trying to get you to pay, you just couldn't care less about your credit. They will go away and spend their time on someone else.

Good luck.

Linda
