co-debtor of crediters

Hi,
I have a question about credit cards.
My husband will file bk soon. The lawyer told him they can put me as co-debtor, so I can be prevented from those credit cards companies to attack me. I am the only co-users on those credit crads.
My questions are (1) if the lawyer do that, it will hurt my credit or not? (2)right now those credit card companies put deliquent on my cc report, can I still ask them to dispute those charges from my report? Thank you for your help
