If you are a joint account holder, either take the lawyers advice, or contact the credit card companies and pay them yourself.

If you are authorized user, have your husband tell the credit card companies to take you name off, and not put this on your report.

You are either joint account holder or you are authorized user. Joint account holder is responsible for paying. Authorized users are not responsible for paying the debt, and if the CC co.s put it on your report, or come after you, you can make them go away real quick.

What your lawyer is saying is pretty strange for authorized user status.
