Hmmmm, I'm not sure. You have another person to soncider, and nothing bad has happened yet. Why not talk to an attorney who specializes in consumer issues, and see if he/she can negotiate with credit card companies for you, without damaging your husband's credit. That is way preferable to CCCS. There are a lot of things to consider here. Are you in a community property state? Do you and your husband have any thing joint - like a mortgage? This will likely affect him also, if you do. Or there may be ways to go about it if you set things up ahead of time.

I am really hesitant to advise, since you have more options than most people here on this board. You haven't defaulted yet. Get some real help. It may not be too late.
