Talk to a lawyer and see if you qualify. Try to negotiate with the card companies before you bk, you might get terms you can live with. It will be hard for you to just default and get away with it because you own your home and have so much equity in it. You might still be able to refinance - if you have a lot of equity it helps. Jeepers! Why didn't you do it sooner??

I put this in the wrong order. Talk to the mortgage brokers first, the credit card companies next, throw the legal consult in anywhere - the first one should be free.
