Contact Discover Card directly, by mail, return receipt (not the collection people) and explain the sutuation to them. Ask if they have any kind of rehabilitation program for people in your situation, that you wish to pay the debt, but are not in a position to honor the original contract. someone on this board posted that Discover had set up a repayment program he could live with. They cannot take the house. He can write them a letter and tell them to contact him only by mail, never by telephone. (They hate that LOL). If they can't give you a deal you can live with, change your phone number, don't check your credit, and hope they give up, but be prepared to take bankruptcy if they sue you. It sounds like you would qualify for bankruptcy (he can keep the house and truck) - you might want to talk to a bankruptcy attorney to make sure. Linda
