The clock starts as of last payment. The credit reporting agenty is not impowered to change that no matter what they put on your report. So if on 1/01/93 you had your last transaction then on 1/01/00 your credit reporting information should be removed. Even if they wrote a new report on 7/01/99 . The new report should have no affect. If it did still appear on your report contact that credit reporting agency in writeing and by law they must remove it. There is one sad part to this. If you made a payment anywhere along the way or sighned a repayment agreement the clock starts ticking again from that point.
