Anytinme you need it, LOL. Usually validation refers to telling a collection agency that you want them to prove that you really owe the money they are trying to collect. Technically, it is supposed to be done during the first 30 days after they contact you in writing, but often, lately they never contact you they just put stuff on your credit report, so really, that kind of changes the rules, and you can do it any time. Logically, it won't work if you have paid them anything.
