1. Original creditor delinquency.

2. Send a validation letter to the colllection agency, and a dispute to the credit bureau that the entry is out of date. If they say it was verified, they have to accept your proof of the actual date.

3. dispute as duplicate. The original creditor and one collection agency can report it, legally. That is not considered duplicates (don't ask me why).

4. Should be reported as "included in bankruptcy." AT first they will be harda$$ed about it, but gradually they will change it. Dispute it with the credit bureau.

5. They don't care what the divorce agreement was. They can still report it and try to collect it from him. This is legal. He can sue in family court for her not following the divorce agreement.

There is a good outline of how to proceed at http://mix6.com/credit along with letter templates for disputing and validation.
