I agree with Ralph. They are going to take the payment and leave you with a charge off or something similar on your credit record for seven years. The fact that they won't "budge" on your request to have your record cleaned in exchange for payment should tell you something. The CREDITORS don't care about you or your credit rating. It's up to you to take the initiative and let them know what conditions must be met if you're going to pay. To pay and still have a dirty record isn't going to solve a whole lot.
