Linda, Ralph,and Daniela, One of the collector's Supervisors informed me that the account will be reported as " settled " once the agreed payment is made. How the CRAs word that is up to them -- according to the supervisor, the creditor can not dictate how the CRAs word a settled account. The supervisor did say that time is not up for a P & L write-off, that payment is being made to the original creditor, so a "charge-off" will not be reflected to the CRAs.
The supervisor said I could call the 3 CRAs and ask how a reported "settled" account with a 0 balance is worded. I will do that ASAP.
In the mean-time, do you all have any thoughts or comments ?
