I've heard from folks like you, who were delighted, and folks who were offended at their trickery (those debts can't really be collected once the SOL is up). Cap One is being sued for this, but I don't think they're doing anything wrong. I think the courts will say it's legal. I haven't seen any of this personally, so I'm assuming Cap One discloses what they're doing. To some people it is worth it, to others it is not.
