Well, 15 years definitely sucks....I guess all I can really do is send out the validation letter and see what happens. If they decide to sue, I guess at that point, we'll have to try and work out a settlement of some sort.

We just don't have the money. We rent, don't own any property, have no investments and our car is about 7 or 8 years old, so it's not worth much. We don't want to file BK because we don't want to lose what litte possesions we do have, like the computers and the TVs, game consoles. All our entertainment is at home on the consoles and PCs. We very rarely go out because of the cost.

The cards we're worried about at the moment are his and they went into default before we got married....my name isn't on any of them, so he would be the one filing for BK...I'm assuming that, even though we're married, I wouldn't be involved in the process, just affected by it. Is there any way to file bancruptcy and be able to keep our personal property, either by storing it at someone else's house or just being allowed to keep it?

Is there any hope that they won't sue, even though the debt is $5000 and 3 years old? Or should we move to another state if possible? We have family in Delaware. I just really don't know what to do right now.
