There are some credit collection companies operating in a very loose manner. It is important to verify exactly what "ownership" they have of a charged off account before paying them.If you have your receipts from the collection company, send copies to the original creditor. If they sold the account they shouldn't be dunning you,if they assigned it,and weren't paid,your receipts should take care of it.
