The cheapest I ever heard of was about $1200 and not sure if that included costs or not. I've thought about filing bankruptcy a couple of times and simply decided that it simply was not worth it both from a standpoint of cost and the resultant hickey on the credit repors. So I just ended up fighting with them and forcing them to pay the debt instead of me because of their abuses of my rights. They never seem to learn. Just keep on making the same old mistakes over and over again.
