Well, don't go getting all ahead of yourself. Sometimes it is not that difficult to straighten these things out. For the accounts that were reported in 1982, send them a statemnt that these accounts are not yours because you were 6 years old that year. If they have the correct SSN and date of birth on your report, these should come right off with no problem. If they have incorrect DOB and/or SSN, send them proof - although your probably already did that in order to get your reports, it won't hurt to send it again. Copies of driver's license and SSN or voter registration card. Make sure the addresses on the documentation you send them are current. Then for any other accounts you see that are not yours, but were reported after you reaches the age of 18, just dispute them filling out the little form they send you with your report. I only dispute one item at a time - they tend to ignore multiple items in one dispute, but try 3 at a tiem if there is a lot on there. It sound like the credit bureau either has your file mixed with someone else's or someone has been using your SSN to get credit. A lot of the time it is other family members who do that. Think real hard whether there is someone in your family or someone who has lived with you and would have access to your personal info who would do that. Does the report show addresses where you have never lived, or other personal information that is not yours, but might indicate a mixed file? I'll be glad to help you with this. There are probably some folks on this board who have been through this who could help, also. Linda
