Citibank Chargeoff

I have a Citibank Visa chargeoff on my credit report, with the last activity showing as 1997. I have not been contacted by a collection agency for over 3 years, and I am just wondering what I should do next. Is it better to pay the amount I owe ($472) or should I wait to be contacted again by a collection agency? I'm not even sure where to begin. I don't know what collection agency took the account, and there isn't a contact # on my credit report. Because it is a relatively small amount that I owe, I'm wondering if I should just pay it off and be done with it?? Please help!! Thank you.
