The statute of limitations is 6 years on SD. After that, even if they sue you, they cannot collect the money. Every time you check your report, collection agencies will start after you. I would just lay low, let it fall off on it's own unless there is some reason you need to take care of it. If you do, try to force it back to Citibank, and deal with them. You can do that by sending the letters to the collection agencies.

If/when they start calling you, do not talk to them on the phone, they will scare you to death. Send them a validation letter within the 30 days. This is old enough that they may not be able to validate, then they have to stop trying to collect it. So they will sell it to someone else, who will start over. Just keep blowing them off unless you get served with court papers (I doubt that will happen).
