Dispute with Citibank

In June of last year I moved from Oregon to Florida. I used my Citibank Mastercard for travel and vacation en-route and maxed it in the process($2000). I was current on payments in June before I left oregon. When I got to Florida and got a place to live, I called Citibank and informed them of my new address and phone number (end of june). As of August, they had not sent me a bill to my new address and finally at the beginning of August my forwarded mail came in from Oregon. I made a payment at the end of August using one of the forwarded bills and filled in change of address portion with my new address and phone number. I called Citibank about a week later to find out what the problem was. Citibank said my account was past due, closed and sent to collections and that they had no record of my calling in June to change my address. They didn't want to talk to me, said the collections people would be in contact. Citibank deposited my august payment the first week of september, at which time my account would only have been 90 day past due. In october I received a demand letter from Citibank's attorneys (retained, not in-house). I replied in November disputing the amount and the placement of this account in a collection status. After not having heard back from the attorney by the end of December, I called them. Citibank's attorney told me that Citibank wanted to proceed to court. In discussions with the attorney, we agreed on 100% payment within 45days and I asked that as part of this agreement, Citibank would not report the account as a collection to the CRA's and would show my account as closed, zero balance and pays as agreed. I just heard from their attorney today that Citibank didn't want to agree to the credit report settlement. I told the attorney the settlement is "100% within 45 days and a pays as agreed with no derogotory information credit report" or I am going to fight them and we can all waste a lot of money in the legal process. The attorney said he would go back to Citibank and talk with them. The attorney has the ability to bind Citibank in a settlement letter.

Am I off-base expecting them to accede to my conditions? Is it likely that they will come around? Any suggestions?
