If you didn't know about the judgment, then whom did they serve?? You can go down to the court and get copies of thepapers they filed and see if they say they served you, and at what address. If you were not properly served, you can petition the court to vacate the judgment. There is some other kind of court filing to make them release the money in the meantime if the funds in your bank account came from certain sources, such as a qualified retirement plan. You really do need legal help right now. There are things you can do about this, but you don't want it screwed up by taking an amateur's advice. If you don't have money for a lawyer, contact legal aid - they should be in your phone book.

Good luck!
