What is Motion of Summary?

A couple of months ago I was servered papers being sued by Capital One anyway the Statute of Limitations had expired so I was told to file a Answer on this reason to the court and send copy to their Attorney and I did so,now I get a registered Letter telling me to be in court Jan.27,2002. At this time judge will hear arguments for the Motion of Summary Judgement filed by Capital One.I have no ideal what this and what happened to Answer I filled? Someone help I'm lost.
