Scared to start credit cleanup

I'm worried that if I request a copy of my credit report now, I will be placing all my new information out there for the wolves. I have moved several times and not forwarded addresses, so I don't know what is on my report exactly. My cards started in one state and went delinquent in another and I'm worried about any loopholes. I will graduate this may and want to settle these debts. If I settle (things not so old, will these now remain on my account for another 5-7 years, or can they be removed in the time limit allowed from origional date of deliquency. I hope this is clear. I i'm worried the old accounts will be able to now serve me officially.. (not send letters to old addresses or old roomates apartments) and I will aquire dreaded judgments. What would you advise?
