Debt Consolidation

Hello. I want to consolidate my credit cards to lower my monthly payments. I found this site, LowAPR.net through a search engine. Regarding debt consolidation, I can either transfer balances to a lower-interest credit card or do what appears to be one of those "consumer credit counseling" programs. I know if I do the latter, I will have all of my accounts closed, which is OK. My question is how bad do the CCC programs hurt your credit? My credit is good right now and I want to purchase my first home in the next couple of years. Thank you!
