Yes, they are supposed to do more if you dispute. Read the section of the Fair Credit Reporting Act where it talks about disputed items and the Credit bureau's responsibility. YOu can send a written request for the process used to verify, and they are supposed to tell you who they contacted - then you can check and see if they really did it. A lot of the time they don't, and if you can catch them you can sue them. Linda
