There is no sol for guaranteed student loans. A possibility is to file bankruptcy. Sometimes the bankruptcy court will discharge student loans using "undue hardship" as the bar that must be met. Some Courts follow the ruling in Brunner v. New York State Higher Education Services, 831 F.2d 395 (2d Cir. 1987). If you decide to go this way you need to be sure that the attorney understands that you want the loans discharged. Don't fall for the, "sure, sure, we'll try that" stuff. The attorney has to really know what they're doing - this isn't going to be done on a form! This may not be the best way to go, but, it gives you something to consider.
