If you just got out of school and where at least going 1/2 time student loans (Federal Stafford) are not due until 6 months after that date (as far as I know). Not sure about other student loans. Who was the "loaner"? As far as I know, any Federal subsidized or unsubsidized it is your responsiblity to notify them of any address changes immediately. For any others that have student loans coming due - you can request deferment or forebearance to avoid collection activity. And from what I understand our own Federal government uses OSI for their collections (they also operate Gulf State, Perimeter, Account Portfolio). Imagine - the govt using an agency that violates Federal collection statutes.
