A notice to you to give you time to respond is required for a judgement. All you have to do is prove you were not properly served,and the judgement will be set aside. This doesn't mean they can't refile properly, but it does give you some leverage. If, for instance, they violated the law, you can counter-sue under the FDCA. See a lawyer.
