Well, they really can't take your personal possessions for a credit card debt. They can freeze your bank accounts and put a lien against any real estate so that if/when you sell it they get their money. They can garnish your pay in most states - not in Texas.

Some states may have stricter or more lenient laws, and it might pay to check what your state allows, but generally speaking, what I've stated is true.
