You give really good advice, so don't take this the wrong way. :) I think *that* "open contract" is referring to the sale of personal property. Ohio does not recognise any other kind of open contract. All contracts, including credit cards, are considered written contracts in Ohio. Here are references to the Ohio statutes. I've done more than my usual research on Ohio laws, because a friend who lives there is in some trouble. Surprisingly, the majority of states consider credit cards open contracts, but not all. Written contract 15 years O.R.C. 2305.06
Oral contract 6 years O.R.C. 2305.07 Contract for sale of personal Property 4 years O.R.C. 1302.98 Recovery of title and Possession of real property 21 years O.R.C. 2305.04 Trespass upon real property 4 years O.R.C. 2305.09 Recovery of personal property 4 years O.R.C. 2305.09 Fraud 4 years O.R.C. 2305.09 Personal Injury 2 years O.R.C. 2305.10 Anyone who actually would like to search the entire Ohio code, it is here: http://onlinedocs.andersonpublishing.com/revisedcode/home.cfm view in frame
