Unfortunatley, they are attornies. I did a search with the BBB and they've only had something like 4 complaints over the past couple of years. 3 were resolved and 1 they supposedly did whatever they could to resolve it. They handle the commercial and business side of law, not the everyday person and one of they're areas is collections. I think it said they have something like 30 collectors and that the follow the law while still being aggressive. We've gotten no phone calls from them, so I'm hoping they don't have the phone number. No other info has been given and I don't know how soon they could find where he works. He changed jobs and he's only been at the new one for about 3 months and no credit has been applied for in the past couple of years.

If they are attornies and I send the cease communications letter, they can still sue right? Too bad that wouldn't prevent them from suing since they wouldn't be allowed to contact me.

I'm assuming that if we ever do get served with papers, he'll have to start pulling money out of the checking account to prevent them from getting it.

Also, the validation letter I sent was dated January 4th but it didn't get mailed until after 5pm on the 7th. They got it on the 9th. Do I count 31 days from the 4th or from the 9th if I have to send a second validation letter? If the 4th, it's been 2 weeks so far and nothing. A good sign or a bad one.....
