I can understand about the time and trouble. Small claims court is low-cost, fill-in-the-blanks, not much trouble, if you have to do it.

Sometimes they cave in with the "here's my proof, I intend to sue you" letter, and you never even have to file. Either one of you can call small claims court in your area and see how much it costs. It's just that after making the threat, one would have to be prepared to follow through. $1,000 per violation, plus court costs, often makes it worthwhile if you are forced to do it.
