If you read other posts here you'll see that you can write a "CEASE & DESIST" letter, certified mail/return receipt, demanding that this collection agency cease all communications by phone under Federal Debt Collection laws. You can also demand, again in writing, certified/return receipt, that all communications must be in writing. They do not like this because you are now creating documentation. BTW, it is illegal for a coll. agency to call before 8 a.m. - and 5 times a day is harassment. You should keep a chronological log of who called, time, what they said. And they cannot make threats against you with the intent of harassing or intimidating you - most do because they think we are ignorant. Fact is - they are the ignorant ones!
How long has this debt been delinquent? Also get caller ID or an answering machine.
